Our Premise

Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus replied, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.

(Matt. 36-39)

Our Passion Our People

Our Lord made it perfectly clear that love of God is inseparably bound with love of neighbor. As a community of faith, were bound by the notion that a genuine love for God is authenticated and made flesh as we love and care for those who share in bearing the image of God.

Given the call of Jesus Christ, it is the conviction of Christian Builders that we should in concert with other outreach ministries be addressing the need to provide and improve the shelter of those who, for whatever reason, live in substandard housing in our area.

Our Purpose

As a ministry of Wayne United Methodist Church, The Christian Builders a team of lay people, carpenters and laborers alike are driven by the premise that Christ calls us to reach out with real help, not attitudes of pity or offering hand-outs, but with practical empathy, helping people repair and upgrade their dwelling places as it pertains to shelter and sanitation.

Our Projects

… come from referrals made to us by health and welfare agencies, individuals who request assistance and from other ministries working in the area. Project sites are assessed by experienced builders who determine their feasibility, material and labor costs, family support and available resources. Quite simply, we help where we can, if we can, provided we have the help we need to address a real need.
