Girl Scouts

Troop 4581 consists of all ranks: Daisies (K-1), Brownies (2-3), Juniors( 4-5), Cadettes (6-8), Seniors (9-10), and Ambassadors (11-12). Currently we have 11 girls. Three young ladies have received the Gold Award, Girl Scouting’s highest award. The troop has been in existence since 2001 originally under the leadership of Cathy Smith, then Ruth Thayer, and now Maritza Pittore. Debbie Frasher, Christian Morrison, Lisa Bell, and Alice Roberts are the assistant leaders. Our troop belongs to Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council which covers all of WV, part of OH and MD. For more information, please check us out at www.bdgsc.org.

Our goal is to develop a leadership experience through our badges and community projects that will shape their paths in our community, in our state, in our nation, and in our world.

The following are keys to leadership practiced in our Troop:

Discover: Girls understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world.

Connect: Girls care about, inspire and team up with others locally and globally.

Take Action: Girls act to make the world a better place.

Examples of past troop activities are Winter Jam Christian concert, Huntington Mall Lock-In, Marshall Recreation Center Lock-In and various outings in the tri-state area.

Our promise dictates how we conduct ourselves at all times with God being at the center of what we do.
